A professional for over 25 years in broadcasting and communications, Mark founded The Sextant Group in 1995. He is an expert in digital media technologies, architectural acoustics, psychoacoustics, and market trends in the multimedia industry. In his role as a consultant specializing in planning and design, Mark's work extends across a broad range of projects, including feasibility studies, master plans, high-technology learning environments, recording, production, and broadcast facilities, performance spaces, and other places of public assembly. Valenti is an internationally recognized authority on the integration of technology and the learning environment and is a member of the faculty for the Institute for Facilities Management of the Association for Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA). He is a frequent presenter at professional conferences, where his topics have included "Emerging Technologies and the 21st Century Campus", "Planning and Design for Future Technologies", "The Digitally Integrated Learning Environment" and "Change Beyond the Speed of Light -- Are Your Buildings Wired or Tired?" As principal consultant of The Sextant Group, Mark works to determine strategies, set overall project goals and objectives, and offer his planning expertise in the development of technology alternatives while working with colleges and universities, business, and institutions. Mark is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and The University of Bridgeport. Professional affiliations include the Society for College and University Planning, the Audio Engineering Society, and the Acoustical Society of America.
