Mark S. Swearingin joined Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Inc. as Vice President Technical Operations in July 2007. Mr. Swearingin will be responsible for all aspects of the Company's global maintenance and engineering activities and strategy including the most efficient means of maintaining AAWW's aircraft fleet and the most effective ways to improve maintenance costs.
Mr. Swearingin brings a broad range of experience in aircraft maintenance and engineering to AAWW. Prior to joining the Company Mr. Swearingin served as Vice President Technical Operations for SH&E Air Transport Consultancy the world's largest air transport consulting firm where he was responsible for growing the airline managed services practice. From 2005 to 2006 he served as Executive Vice President Air Canada Technical Services and from 2003 to 2005 he was Vice President Maintenance and Engineering at Midwest Airlines. Earlier in his career Mr. Swearingin held positions as Managing Director Maintenance Control and Maintenance Planning for US Airways Division Manager for United Parcel Service Airlines and Mechanic with Northwest Orient Airlines.
Mr. Swearingin is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation technology. In addition he holds airframe and powerplant licenses and a private pilot rating from the Federal Aviation Administration. |
