Mr. Speers is Managing Director of Health Advances, LLC, a strategy consulting firm focusing on assisting the management teams of medical device, diagnostics and biopharmaceutical companies. He co-founded the firm in 1992 after gaining 10 years of strategy consulting experience in the healthcare industry as a Partner at Bain & Company, an international consulting firm. Over the last 14 years, he has primarily focused on evaluating the commercial potential and/or developing market launch strategies for new medical devices and diagnostics. In addition, he had been deeply involved in fund-raising and several mergers and acquisitions.
He led Health Advances’ founding of Spherics, Inc., a venture-backed drug delivery company, and he serves on the boards of MassMEDIC, Water Street Capital Partners and Radius Ventures.
Mr. Speers earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, and he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was honored as an Arjay Miller Scholar.
