Mark Anderson is United's Vice President of Government Affairs. He is based at United’s offices in Washington, D.C.
He oversees all aspects of United's domestic and international initiatives at the federal, state and local government level.
Prior to joining United in 1997, Anderson served in a variety of senior executive positions in Washington, D.C., including chief of staff to former Iowa Congressman Jim Lightfoot and as a special assistant for Economic Development to Iowa Senator Charles Grassley. He was appointed to a senior executive service position at the Department of Agriculture by former President George Bush in 1992.
Anderson holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and economics from Iowa State University. He serves on the boards of directors of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society National Capital Chapter, the Congressional Management Foundation, and the Franklin Center for Global Exchange based in Washington, D.C. |
