Mark R. O’Bryan is senior vice president, strategic initiatives, of Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. Most recently, he served as vice president, operational improvement, for the Consumer Packaging division. He started with the company in October 1999 as vice president of Smurfit-Stone’s procurement department. He is an officer of the company. O’Bryan has 13 years experience with General Electric Corporation, holding senior level positions in sourcing and materials management at several GE manufacturing businesses, and serving as manager of global materials and sourcing for GE Aircraft Engines in Evendale, OH. Prior to that, he held similar posts with GE Plastics in Pittsfield, MA, and a GE Power Systems operation in Florence, Italy. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Mark holds BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton.
