As a former defense lawyer, Mark has successfully defended and resolved over 100 lawsuits involving premises liability, automobile, construction, and nursing home claims. In addition, Mark has represented physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and other health care providers for many years defending medical malpractice claims and has served as personal counsel for physicians in medical malpractice lawsuits, working in conjunction with their retained defense counsel to obtain favorable results. Mark also represents the Florida Birth-Related Neurological Injury Compensation Association in administrative hearings involving claims for compensation for birth-related neurological injuries.
Mark is an experienced commercial and business litigator as well, having prosecuted and defended many cases in state and federal court involving contract, insurance, property and construction disputes. Among other things, Mark has prosecuted a lawsuit on behalf of an insurance company against a reinsurer for breach of oral contract, resulting in a multi-million dollar settlement, and has assisted with the representation of the Florida Department of Financial Services (formerly, Florida Department of Insurance) in its capacity as Receiver of insolvent insurers, in litigation against former officers, directors, and principals, and against outside professionals and reinsurers, to recover disputed reinsurance amounts, resulting in recoveries in excess of $10,000,000.
While in law school, Mark served as a director of the Trial Advocacy Board, as a member of the ABA National Trial Team and was selected as a member of Who's Who Among American Law Students.
