Mr. Perry has served as a director since October 2003 and currently serves as the senior business advisor for Gilead Sciences, Inc., reporting to the CEO. Mr. Perry was an executive officer of Gilead from 1994 to 2004, serving in a variety of capacities, including general counsel, chief financial officer and most recently, executive vice president of operations, responsible for worldwide sales & marketing, legal, manufacturing and facilities. From 1981 to 1994, Mr. Perry was with the law firm Cooley Godward LLP in San Francisco and Palo Alto, serving as a partner of the firm from 1987 until 1994. He received his J.D. degree from the University of California, Davis in 1980 and is a member of the California bar. In addition to Nuvelo, Mr. Perry serves on the board of directors of Nvidia Corporation and Aerovance, Inc.
