Mark L. Alter is a Managing Director and Senior Trader focused on U.S. Leveraged Finance opportunities. He is based in New York.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Alter was a key participant of the start-up team of PPM America, the U.S. subsidiary of PPM Worldwide, a money management arm of Prudential PLC. In that role, he helped to develop the infrastructure of the trading desk, formed trading procedures and policies, and created the portfolio management computer systems. In addition, Mr. Alter was a member of the portfolio management committee that decided investment strategies, asset allocation, and made relative value decisions overseeing a growth in assets from approximately $9 billion to $35 billion. During his tenure, Mr. Alter supervised a team of four traders involved in all aspects of the fixed income markets while he specialized in the trading of high yield, emerging market, and Baa3/BBB rated corporate bonds.
Mr. Alter earned a B.A. degree in economics from Stonehill College in 1985, and received an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. |
