Mark J. Snyder is executive vice president and head of State Street Global Market's foreign exchange and money markets division. He is responsible for all currency and money market trading and sales activities worldwide. He is also a member of State Street's Executive Management Group, Investment Committee and State Street Associates Management Team.
Mr. Snyder joined State Street in 1983 in the Capital Markets Group and has held a variety of positions in foreign exchange, treasury, futures and currency risk management in Sydney, Hong Kong and the United States. In 1989, he relocated to Hong Kong and served as general manager of State Street's branch there. He moved to Sydney in 1993, opening up the first US bank branch in Australia. In serving as the branch general manager, he established Sydney as State Street's regional foreign exchange center. He repatriated to Boston in 1995 and served as manager of State Street's U.S. foreign exchange business. In 1999, Mr. Snyder was appointed global head of foreign exchange trading and sales. He was promoted to executive vice president in 2001.
