Mark E. Elbaum is Senior Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer for the Mortgage Production Segment for Countrywide Financial Corporation (NYSE:CFC), a diversified financial services provider and member of the S&P 500. He also serves as Senior Managing Director for its main subsidiary, Countrywide Home Loans, Inc., a national leader in residential finance.
Elbaum was named Chief Financial Officer of Countrywide's Mortgage Production Segment in January 2001. His responsibilities include maintaining strong financial controls and industry-leading systems that ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results from the Company's impressive mortgage production operations. Elbaum joined Countrywide in 1998 as Executive Vice President, Strategic Financial Planning, responsible for budgeting, long-term capital planning, production accounting, expense analysis, and forecasting and strategic business planning for all operating units.
Prior to joining Countrywide, Elbaum served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Principal Accounting Officer for Aames Financial Corporation, a consumer finance company that he joined in 1992. He also served as Audit Manager for Price Waterhouse from 1985 through 1992.
Elbaum holds a Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Southern California and received his Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the same institution. He earned his Certified Public Accountant designation from the State of California in 1987. |
