Mark E. Konen heads Retail Markets for Lincoln Financial Group. Previously he was executive vice president of life and annuity manufacturing for Jefferson Pilot Financial and was responsible for Product Development and Implementation, Underwriting, New Business, Profitability Management, Actuarial and Financial Analysis, Asset/Liability Management and Reinsurance. Prior to assuming his current role, Konen served as executive vice president of product/financial management for Jefferson Pilot’s insurance operations, with responsibility for life insurance and annuity product development and in-force management, as well as asset/liability management and actuarial valuation, planning and financial analysis. Konen also served as corporate actuary with responsibility for strategic planning, rating agency relations, capital management, and merger and acquisition activity. Konen began his insurance career in 1981, and has held various actuarial roles with two major companies prior to joining Jefferson Pilot Financial in 1994. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Mathematics in 1981 from the University of Nebraska. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He is active in various community organizations including serving on the board as treasurer of the Greensboro Urban Ministries. |
