Biography
Mark E. Bishop joined Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP in 1987 following his graduation from Baylor Law School, cum laude. Mr. Bishop also received a B.B.A., magna cum laude, from Baylor University in 1985. He is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate practice group. Mr. Bishop is board certified in commercial real estate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His experience includes the negotiation, due diligence review, documentation, and closing of sophisticated real estate transactions, including the acquisition and disposition of office buildings, hotels, commercial tracts, ranch land, and multi family properties. He also has represented a national retailer in multi state land acquisitions and development work; negotiated and closed sale/leaseback transactions for a national retail client; negotiated office and retail leases for landlords and tenants; and represented developers in the acquisition, leasing, and management of shopping centers and mixed-use projects.
Mark and his wife, Shelia, are raising two daughters, Megan and Kate. Since the law firm has not yet opened a branch office in Banff, Canada, he must make the most of occasional vacations there. Mr. Bishop is also a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Arlington, Texas, where he teaches a Sunday School class for young married couples.
