Mark McLaughlin is Executive Vice President of the Products, Marketing, and Customer Care organization. In this role, he is responsible for VeriSign's product strategy, product management, product development, corporate and product marketing, and customer care.
Since joining VeriSign in 2000, Mr. McLaughlin has held the roles of Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Information Services Division, Senior Vice President, Deputy General Manager, Registry Services, Vice President, Corporate Business Development and Vice President, General Manager, Payment Services.
Before joining VeriSign, Mr. McLaughlin was the vice president of sales and business development for Signio, a leading Internet payment company, and was instrumental in the negotiation and acquisition of Signio by VeriSign in 2000. Before joining Signio, Mr. McLaughlin was the vice president of business development for Gemplus, the world's leading smart-card company. Prior to joining Gemplus, Mr. McLaughlin was the general counsel of Caere Corporation, the world's leading OCR software company. Mr. McLaughlin practiced law with Cooley Godward LLP (now Cooley Godward Kronish LLP), a leading high-technology law firm in Silicon Valley, in the firm's Information and Technology Licensing group.
Mr. McLaughlin received his J.D., Magna cum Laude, from Seattle University School of Law and his B.S. Degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Mr. McLaughlin served as an attack helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army and earned an Army Commendation Medal and Airborne Wings. |
