Experience:
Mark Manela is a trial lawyer and co-leader of the firm’s national Accounting Liability Practice Group.
Mark has more than 20 years’ experience and has an extensive litigation practice involving jury and bench trials in federal and state courts. He has acted as lead counsel for clients in some of the largest and most complex securities class action cases. Mark’s trial and case experience arises out of a variety of business and financial disputes, including: suits against accountants and other professionals for alleged malpractice; energy industry litigation; securities fraud and other class action lawsuits; shareholder derivative claims; SEC and DOJ investigations; failed business transactions; failed companies and financial institutions; business torts; outsourcing contracts; real estate and construction disputes, including commercial and utility construction projects; banking litigation; directors’ and officers’ liability; and tax issues. Mark also has extensive arbitration and mediation experience.
Mark joined Mayer Brown’s Houston office in 2003. A native Texan, Mark was previously a member/shareholder and name partner in a Houston firm, and practiced with the Houston office of a national law firm.
