Mark C. Hammond is an associate in the Environmental Practice Group. He regularly advises clients on the environmental implications of business transactions and provides regulatory counseling across a wide variety of federal and state environmental statutes, regulations and programs.
Transactional. Clients rely on Mark to develop the scope and implement the necessary due diligence for a variety of business and real estate transactions, including management of Phase I and II environmental site assessments, and negotiation and structuring of environmental risks in mergers and acquisitions. He is versed in Pennsylvania Act 2 (Brownfields) initiatives and has been actively involved in the development of several sites under this program.
Environmental Counseling. Mark's regulatory practice includes counseling on a broad range of federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations, including the Clean Air Act, Pennsylvania Act 2, issues relating to solid and hazardous waste disposal, EPCRA, and stormwater. He helps clients develop and implement compliance programs and environmental management systems. He frequently speaks to national trade associations and has published numerous articles on environmental compliance topics.
In General. Before practicing law at Drinker Biddle, Mark spent eight years as an environmental consultant, primarily as a project manager and department head. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources and the Pennsylvania Bar Association Environmental, Mineral, and Natural Resources Law Section, and is active in various civic organizations. |
