As Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer at Noblis, Mr. Simione is responsible for all of the financial and administrative activities within the corporation. Noblis is a nonprofit science, technology and strategy organization working at all levels of government, in private industry and with other nonprofits in areas that are essential to our nation’s well-being: national and homeland security; public safety; transportation; health care; criminal justice; energy and the environment; and oceans, atmosphere and space.
Mr. Simione is responsible for the following functions performed under his direction: contracts and procurement, finance, treasury management, human resources, legal, facilities and security management, and corporate information management. He also serves as the trustee of the Noblis pension plan.
Prior to Noblis, Mr. Simione was with The MITRE Corporation where he held several financial management positions. He served as the director of the Business Resource Center for the Center for Information Systems and the Center for Environment, Resources and Space. In this capacity, he was responsible for the financial operations of the two centers, including strategic business planning and analysis, business proposal preparation and contractual strategies, and financial statement management and analysis.
Mr. Simione also served as the director of Treasury Operations for MITRE. His responsibilities included corporate financial planning and reporting, cash management, and the management of the corporation’s pension plan. Mr. Simione held the position as the manager of the Corporate Pension Office. In this capacity, he was responsible for the investment management, legal compliance, and administration of MITRE’s qualified and nonqualified pension plans. Mr. Simione was a member of the Pension Plan Advisory Committee. Prior to that, he held various positions in the finance, benefits, and compensation areas.
Currently, Mr. Simione serves as a member of the Endowment Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees of Merrimack College. In addition, he serves as President on the Board of Trustees of United Cerebral Palsy of D.C. and Northern Virginia. Also, Mr. Simione is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Friends of Barker, an adoption agency in the Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. areas. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Washington Society of Investment Analysts.
Mr. Simione graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Finance from Merrimack College, and he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. |
