Mark A. Kanian is a member of the firm's Real Estate Department, concentrating in the development, leasing, sale, acquisition and financing of real property. He received his B.A. degree from Fordham University in 1976 and his J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1982. Mr. Kanian spent 16 years as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel to The Chase Manhattan Bank where he was active in all phases of real estate leasing, acquisition and disposition, and formulated corporate real estate policy through the Bank's legal department. During the 1990's when the Bank merged several times with other banking giants, Mr. Kanian was a member of the management team that reorganized over 400 branches within the Bank's owned and leased real estate portfolio. He then joined a major New York commercial brokerage company as Senior Vice President and General Counsel where he was responsible for all contract negotiations, established company management and employee guidelines and procedures, and developed new business initiatives. Mr. Kanian's expertise in both business and legal principles of real estate makes him a valued asset to the firm's clients. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Member, Committee on Real Estate Financing, Real Estate Section). |
