Mark A. Brody is a partner in Seward & Kissel's Real Estate group. He has practiced at the firm since 1984, and has been a partner since 1992.
Mr. Brody's primary responsibilities include advising clients on a wide variety of real estate, real estate related and other business transactions. He has significant expertise in all aspects of the acquisition, financing, securitization (including work involving REITs and asset backed securities), leasing, development and disposition of various real estate and real estate related assets including such assets as office buildings, shopping malls, industrial facilities, multi-family residential properties, hotels, vacant land and various entities holding interest in the foregoing. Mr. Brody also has substantial experience in various other corporate and municipal finance transactions.
In addition to dealing with the business, tax, environmental and securities issues which typically arise in connection with all of the foregoing matters, his responsibilities also include the formation and organization of various entities, including corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies and the negotiation of various joint venture relationships in connection with the formation and organization of those entities.
Mr. Brody received a B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1979, and a J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law in 1982. He is a member of the Colorado Bar, the New York Bar, and the New York State and the American Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, and the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys (NAPPA). |
