Marion K. Littman, a member of the firm, devotes her practice exclusively to health care law. Marion represents a wide variety of health care clients such as hospitals, physicians, long-term care facilities, and companies investing in health care equipment and business. Marion has substantial experience in transactional work, analysis and advice on state and federal regulatory requirements, managed care, reimbursement, and legal issues that affect patient care. Additionally, she is skilled in the review of hospital policies and in litigation regarding guardians and special medical guardians for patients.
Prior to joining the firm, Marion had substantial experience both in private practice and as in-house counsel. This included three years as a staff attorney for a major academic medical center in Philadelphia, where she was responsible for regulatory advice and analysis, contracts, staff training, litigation regarding emergency court orders for treatment, discovery of medical records, reviewing and drafting of hospital policies, and a variety of other health care law issues.
Marion is a frequent lecturer and writer on health care topics such as fraud and abuse, legal issues affecting hospital and physician transactions, medical records, long-term care and bioethical issues, among others. Marion is a member of the Institutional Review Board of the University Medical Center at Princeton, and a past member of the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners’ Task Force on Professional Practice Regulations, and of the Institutional Review Board of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton. Marion is the recipient of the Legislative Recognition Award from the New Jersey State Bar Association for her work on the NJSBA-drafted guardianship bill as Immediate Past Chair of the Health and Hospital Law Section.
Marion is a member of the NMM Women’s Forum Marketing Subcommittee, which focuses on speaking engagements, association memberships, trade group involvement and publications, and the planning of one substantive seminar per year.
