Mario Rivas is Executive Vice President, Computing Products Group at AMD. Mario is responsible for driving the development, strategy and management for AMD’s broad and growing portfolio of consumer and commercial microprocessor solutions. Previously, Mario was corporate vice president for the Office of Strategy Management. In this position, he was responsible for driving AMD’s strategic planning process.
Prior to joining AMD in 2005, Mario managed the communication businesses of Philips Semiconductor. During his first two years at Philips, he managed operations (foundries), assembly and testing, in addition to purchasing. He also served as a Director of Taiwan Semiconductors Manufacturing Corporation (TSMC). Before Philips, Mario spent 19 years at Motorola, Inc., with responsibilities in both the Semiconductor and Communication sectors.
Mario holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Central America in San Salvador. He also holds master’s degrees in semiconductor physics and business, both from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mario and his wife of 26 years, Debbie, reside in Austin, TX. |
