Maria del Calvo-Hevia is a Partner and Senior Tax Specialist for Ocariz, Gitlin & Zomerfeld, LLP. With more than 20 years of experience in the areas of International and Domestic Tax, she is an authority in the needs of expatriates and investors with holdings in foreign corporations and has an extensive track record serving clients in the areas of corporate reorganization, tax planning, financial projections, and revenue agent examinations.
In her role as Partner, Ms. del Calvo-Hevia is also responsible for managing the firm’s client engagements, developing and conducting training seminars and tax compliance services.
Prior to joining Ocariz, Gitlin & Zomerfeld, LLP in 2003, she worked for a combined 12 years at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche where her work concentrated on international tax. Ms. del Calvo-Hevia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Miami.
In addition, she a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Cuban American Certified Public Accountants as well as The Commonwealth Institute and serves as Treasurer for the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Miami-Dade County.
