Ms. Pinkham protects the interests of her clients in a variety of business contexts. She has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration matters arising out of commercial transactions and business operations, at both the trial and appellate level. Her clients range from small privately held companies to international publicly traded corporations.
In addition to her broader litigation experience, Ms. Pinkham focuses on employment-related disputes. She has defended harassment and discrimination suits through both jury trials and public hearings in administrative agencies, and has also brought and defended claims seeking to enforce confidentiality, non-competition and non-solicitation covenants. Ms. Pinkham also counsels clients in drafting employment contracts, and how to avoid claims based on workplace events or termination of employment.
Recent Matters
o Represented plaintiffs in a case resulting in the largest jury verdict in Massachusetts in 2004.
o As Special Assistant Attorney General, represented the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in tobacco litigation for reimbursement of State Medicaid expenditures.
o Won summary judgment for financial services client accused of misrepresentation by a financing company seeking to recover $1.5 million.
o Defended and settled contract claim against telecom manufacturing client where plaintiff sought in excess of $3 million.
o Reached settlement within days of serving summary judgment motion in case seeking ruling that commercial lease had expired and former tenant had no interest in waterfront property.
o Obtained temporary restraining order against three former employees who did not have non-compete contracts when they opened first US office of software client's largest competitor.
