Vice President-Governmental Affairs Northeast Utilities Service Company Margaret L. Morton is vice president-Governmental Affairs for Northeast Utilities (NU). Morton is a native of New Haven Connecticut. She graduated from Wesleyan University with a bachelor of arts degree in history. She
was an Etherington Scholar and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Morton joined NU in January 1992 as a governmental affairs representative. Prior to joining NU she was executive assistant to the president of Connecticut State University from 1982 to 1987 and executive assistant to the commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Housing from 1987 through 1991. Morton is a member of the Executive Board of the Connecticut Housing Investment Fund; the Connecticut Community Development Association; the Executive Board of Co-Opportunity Inc.; Commissioner of the Connecticut State Lottery and the Board of Governors of Southern Connecticut State University. She is also a member of the Utility State Government Organization; Women in Energy; Women Executives in State Government and the Conference of State Governments. In addition she serves as a member of the legislative committees of both the Middlesex and MetroHartford Chambers of Commerce; and a member of the Wesleyan Alumni
Association. Morton has two daughters and resides in Rockfall CT. |
