Peggy Johnson is president of QUALCOMM Internet Services (QIS) and MediaFLO Technologies. QIS is responsible for QUALCOMM's BREW® solution which includes the uiOne deliveryOne and marketOne offerings and is the division chartered with accelerating next-generation wireless data applications technologies and value-added services worldwide. QIS's other products include the QChat® push-to-talk solution QPoint location server solution and Eudora® email client.
MediaFLO Technologies is responsible for the development of the MediaFLO system comprised of the MediaFLO Media Distribution System (MDS) and FLO technology both of which are specifically designed to optimize the delivery of multimedia and address the inherent challenges associated with mobile content delivery.
Johnson began her career at QUALCOMM in 1989 as a software engineer within QUALCOMM Wireless Business Solutions (QWBS) division. She held several positions within QWBS including director of business development where she was responsible for adding network management centers for the OmniTRACS system in Malaysia Korea Japan and Mexico. She also served as vice president of technology where she led the customer software group. She joined QUALCOMM Consumer Products in 1997 as vice president of business development and was appointed vice president of sales shortly thereafter. Johnson was named senior vice president of sales for QCP in April 2000 and took on the additional responsibilities of marketing for Kyocera Wireless in a transitional role after the sale of QCP to Kyocera.
Prior to joining QUALCOMM Johnson worked as an engineer for General Electric's Military Electronics Division. She holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from San Diego State University.
