Margaret D. Closson, CPA, decided, as a sophomore at Picayune High School, that she wished to be a CPA, employed by a small accounting firm, and one day be a partner. Peggy achieved this goal when in 1974, she graduated from U.S.M. with a degree in Business Administration, and became the first female accountant with what was then Piltz, Simms, and Co. With the retirement of Mr.Simms, and the evolution of the firm to Piltz, Williams, LaRosa & Co., Peggy achieved the position of partner in 1982. Peggy has been fortunate enough to enjoy 32 years in her chosen field of public accounting, where she avoids auditing, and has a real fondness for estate work. Peggy lives in Ocean Springs with her husband of 32 years, Dale, and enjoys boating, fishing, reading good books, and solving sudoku puzzles. |
