Marcus co-founded Optiant and served as the first CEO and CFO, successfully leading the company during the critical first stages of funding from Battery Ventures, building the organization, bringing Optiant's PowerChain suite to market, and signing Fortune 1000 customers such as Hewlett-Packard and Imation.
Prior to co-founding Optiant, Marcus was chief financial officer for Commotion Technology, a recognized leader in Internet-based robot control and industrial automation software for manufacturers. He managed all aspects of the company's operations and drove its successful acquisition by PRI Automation.
Marcus also had front-line technology experience directing some of the U.S. Air Force's most advanced technology programs, including work for the National Security Agency. His last program, a $20 million initiative for U.S. Space Command, significantly exceeded customer requirements and provided unparalleled capabilities to the U.S. military.
Marcus earned both a master's degree in engineering economic systems and bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University. |
