Marcus A. Ewald is a Director in the Valuation & Financial Opinions Group. He has provided valuation and litigation advisory services for numerous purposes including fairness opinions, solvency opinions, purchase price allocations, goodwill and long-lived asset impairment testing, estate and gift taxation, purchase and sale advisement, succession planning, Employee Stock Ownership Plans, quantification of intangible asset value, marital dissolution, shareholder disputes, Subchapter C to Subchapter S conversions, and other tax, corporate, and litigation related matters. His experience includes the provision of services to a diverse client base comprised of Fortune 500 companies, middle market corporations, private equity funds, law firms, accounting firms, and financial institutions. In addition to his valuation and litigation advisory experience, Mr. Ewald has been involved in numerous investment banking transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and the private placement of senior debt, subordinated debt, and equity securities. Mr. Ewald also has experience in the appraisal of real estate for various property types, including multi-family complexes; office, industrial, and retail buildings; golf courses; and vacant land. Mr. Ewald has served numerous industries including architectural and engineering consulting, automotive suppliers, automobile and motorcycle dealerships, banking, computer software, construction, consumer products, energy, food distribution, golf course operation, grocery retail, help supply services, manufacturing, real estate brokerage and development, professional sports franchises, recreation, restaurants, retailing, steel and metals distribution, telecommunications, and wholesale distribution. Mr. Ewald earned a BA in Finance from Michigan State University. Mr. Ewald has also earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Chicago, and the Business Valuation Association. |
