Marco Bucci is President of the Medical Films & Printing Solutions business for Carestream Health, Inc., the standalone company that resulted from the sale of Eastman Kodak Company's Health Group to Onex Corporation, Toronto, Canada, in May 2007.
Prior to joining Carestream Health, Bucci was Vice President for Continuous Improvement at SGS SA, a worldwide leader in testing, inspection and certification that operates a network of offices and laboratories around the world.
He started his career with 3M in 1986 as an organic chemist in R&D and progressed to the position of R&D Laboratory Manager for health imaging films, filing 15 U.S. patents and several extensions for other countries.
In 1999, when Kodak acquired Imation Corporation's Medical Imaging business from 3M, Bucci joined Kodak's Health Group as Professional Services Manager for Western Europe. He subsequently held management positions in the Health Group's Services organization, including Director of Services for Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Japan. At that time, Bucci led the opening of the Technology & Innovation Center in Genoa, Italy, a reference site for healthcare customers in Europe.
Bucci became General Manager of Worldwide Health Group Services in 2002. In that role, he grew services revenue and earnings 25% for two consecutive years. He did so by commercializing new services that supported the Health Group's broad portfolio of products, especially in the IT arena. Not only did these efforts expand the business' services portfolio, but they also helped build industry recognition of the Health Group as a premier services provider.
In 2004, Bucci was appointed Chief Technology Officer of Kodak's Health Group, successfully integrating a global R&D practice for the Health Group that included facilities in Shanghai, China; Dallas, Texas; Rochester, N.Y.; Oakdale, Minn.; Genoa, Italy; and Raanana, Israel.
Bucci holds Ph.D. degrees in Pharmacy and in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Genoa, Italy. He is a member of the International Association for Management in Service (AFSMI). |
