Ms. Pratt specializes in Insurance and Financial Services Litigation and Drug and Medical Device Litigation. In the Insurance and Financial Services area, Ms. Pratt has extensive experience in cases involving fraudulently procured policies. Over the past six months, Ms. Pratt has pursued and obtained voluntary rescission of policies believed to have been fraudulently procured, representing a savings of $1.83 million for the insurance carrier. In addition to actions in Alabama, Ms. Pratt is managing insurance litigation in numerous jurisdictions outside of Alabama, including Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas and West Virginia.In the Drug and Medical Device area, Ms. Pratt has represented major pharmaceutical manufacturers in mass tort and class action litigation. She has represented a major medical device manufacturer in fetal heart monitoring cases, in one of which the Alabama Supreme Court upheld summary judgment under a sophisticated user defense in a failure to warn case.
