Marcello Bottoli is President and CEO of Samsonite Inc. the world’s number one luggage maker. He played a key role in turning Samsonite around via a strategy of attracting established designers to create successful new products. Mr. Bottoli also sits on the Boards of Directors of Samsonite and of Ratti SPA an Italian textile company. He holds a doctorate in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan Italy.
Elected to IFF’s Board in 2007 Mr. Bottoli previously served Louis Vuitton Malletier as President and CEO. His other experience includes serving as Executive Vice President of Reckitt Benckiser and as a senior consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. Mr. Bottoli was part of the senior team which took Benckiser public on the Amsterdam and New York Stock Exchanges in 1997. When Benckiser was acquired by Reckitt & Colman in late 1999 he played a key role in merging the two companies’ lead brands emphasizing consumer and strategic insights and creativity. |
