As Director, Marc Jacobs applies an extensive knowledge of technology and software engineering practices in and out of the financial services industry. Marc is responsible for the successful delivery of client projects in the New York area as well as shaping Lab49's technology leadership message and growing its technology partnerships.
Marc has many years of cross-platform software development experience and a high-level of expertise in high-performance, distributed, and grid computing, multithreading and performance optimization, security and cryptography, database development, and large-scale software architecture and design. Marc has broad awareness of new and existing technology products and software trends and is skilled in appropriately applying and integrating specific technologies to solve a business problem.
Prior to Lab49, Marc held senior technology leadership roles at Bridgewater Associates and Ellington Management Group, two Connecticut-based hedge funds, and before that at ThinAirApps (acquired by Palm Computing) and Microsoft Corporation. While at Bridgewater Associates, he was responsible for company-wide architectural direction and oversight and developed systems in research analytics, trade generation, portfolio optimization, and trade execution. At Ellington Management Group, he was responsible for the design and development of a 256-way cluster for valuating of mortgage-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations.
Marc is currently writing a book for Microsoft Press about programming distributed applications using Microsoft .NET. |
