Marc Futterman has over 20 years of experience in combining the power of information technology, planning, and decision-making methods to execute successful client initiatives. Marc's extensive experience in applying geographic information systems (GIS) to the mix of problem solving tools forms the foundation of Civic Technologies. Clients include businesses from a wide variety of industries; public libraries; health care; and livable communities and smart growth. Prior to Civic Technologies, Marc was principal of his own urban planning firm specializing in consensus building process, urban and regional planning, growth management and smart growth, real estate development, and transportation and pedestrian planning. Recognizing that community planning disciplines had yet to combine the power of dynamic database technology with today's web-based tools and computing power, Marc co-founded Civic Technologies in order to integrate all of the resources available to create powerful, information laden applications delivered to the desktop of decision-makers. Marc has held executive level positions at architecture and urban planning firms including UCLA's prestigious Urban Innovations Group. Marc has a range and depth of executive and management experience in delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects for public sector, private sector, and institutional clients worldwide. His creative approach combines a commitment to GIS applications with multi-disciplinary management skills and extensive knowledge of the challenges facing the private sector, the public sector, and institutions. As a regular contributor to public interest organizations, Marc has been featured as a guest speaker at universities and conferences across the globe. He has been recognized with several prestigious awards for his work in GIS and urban design. Marc holds a Master of Philosophy in Urban Design and Regional Planning from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Southern California. |
