Marc S. Byrnes is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of James B. Oswald Holding Company, dba Oswald Companies. Under Marc’s leadership, the employee-owned (ESOP) company has enjoyed significant growth and recently strengthened its position as one of the 50th largest insurance, risk management, financial services and employee/executive benefit consultative brokerage firms in the United States.
Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Oswald Companies has over 400 dedicated employees in Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Florida (Oswald Trippe). Oswald Companies is also a partner in the internationally recognized insurance organization, Assurex Global.
A native of Cleveland, Marc graduated from University School in Hunting Valley in 1972. He earned his BA degree in History and Economics, graduating in 1976 from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. He has been a member of the American College of Chartered Financial Consultants since 1977.
Marc’s unique expertise in the areas of executive benefit, compensation, and risk management has gained him national recognition and membership among these prestigious organizations: The International Forum, Top of the Table, and the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland. Dedicated to many non-profit organizations, Marc serves on the Board of Trustees for the United Way and Cleveland Leadership Center Board. He is an Advisory Board member of US Bank and Learning Disabilities Association, and serves on the Board for the Business Leadership Council at The Cleveland Museum of Art and Tail Wind Capital, (a private equity firm). Marc is the Co-Chair for the United Way Business Market Group II and is involved on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee for University School. |
