Dr. Manju Bewtra, Founder, President, and Owner of CCSi, started the company in 1992. With more than 25 years of experience in the computer applications industry, she has grown CCSi into a powerful IT company, winning major government contracts and forming valuable partnerships with other industry leaders. A star scholar in India, where she grew up, she earned a BA and MA in Mathematics from the University of Delhi while on a National Merit Scholarship. There, she was also awarded two Gold Medals for her academic achievements. After completing her Master's degree, Dr. Bewtra moved to the United States to pursue a PhD. at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y. Upon completion of her PhD., Dr. Bewtra settled in Maryland and began her career at Computer Science Corporation in Silver Spring, Md., where she quickly earned the esteem of her colleagues and supervisors. With her winning combination of unshakable technical expertise, the ability to see the interconnection between complex systems, and strong interpersonal skills, Dr. Bewtra was soon called upon as Project Manager. As her career path took her to IBM (Gaithesburg, Md.), then to Computer Technology Associates (Rockville, Md.), she continued to develop knowledge and skills, while earning a second Masters degree, this time in Computer Science, from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Md., and completing the SPIP-PM Project Management program from the Maryland Software Industry Consortium. In 1992, a member of both the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and with four degrees, several certificates and more than 20 years of progressive technical and managerial experience, Dr. Bewtra felt the urge for a new challenge and decided to found her own company: CCSi. This experience would provide her with an opportunity to take her technical, organizational, managerial and interpersonal skills to yet another level. Although her career is an important part of Dr. Bewtra's life, she still manages to balance work with family life and community involvement. She and her husband Dr. Naren Bewtra have two children and are actively involved in the Indian Community of the Washington D.C. area. Since 1985, Dr. Bewtra has been leading a group of religious singers and has conducted singing programs in the Indian Community, including a 24-hour annual Ramayan (Indian religious epic) recital. |
