Mandla Gantsho was appointed to the board on 1 June 2003. He is the chief executive officer and managing director of the Development Bank of Southern Africa. Previously an advisor to a vice-president of the International Finance Corporation in Washington, DC, USA.
He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Transkei in 1983 and a Certificate in Accountancy Theory and a Bachelor of Commerce (with Honours) in Financial Management from the University of Cape Town in 1985 and 1986, respectively. He became a chartered accountant with the Public Accountants and Auditors Board in 1987. He also obtained a Masters in Science from The George Washington University in 2002.
