Mal has been a trial lawyer with Pierce Atwood since 1977. His litigation background includes a full range of civil litigation, including experience in commercial disputes, personal injury matters, products liability claims, and medical, legal, and real estate broker malpractice actions. Mal’s practice includes jury and bench trials in state and federal courts. He is also experienced in representing professionals, including health care providers and attorneys, on disciplinary matters before regulatory boards and agencies. He is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Mal worked as a trial lawyer in the firm of Wathen & Wathen from 1973 to 1977, as Assistant Attorney General, Criminal Division, for the State of Maine from 1972 to 1973, and as an associate with the law firm of Louis Spill in Biddeford, Maine from 1970 to 1972. Education Mal holds an A.B. from the University of Maine at Orono (1963), and a J.D. from University of Maine School of Law (1970). Professional Activities Mal is a member of the Maine Bar Association and the Maine Trial Lawyers Association (Member, Board of Governors 1980-present, President 2002-2003). Mal is a member of the State Courts of Maine and the Federal District Court of Maine.
