Director, Marketing and Business Development
As director of marketing and business development for the Avicena Group, Ms. Wong-Paredes provides the company with a wealth of marketing, product development and market research knowledge. Ms. Wong-Paredes combines her considerable experience in both technology and business to identify significant unmet consumer needs, and she has a proven track record of successfully developing and supporting products from concept through launch for several leading international companies.
Prior to joining the Avicena Group, Ms. Wong-Paredes served as director of marketing and program management for Oculex Pharmaceuticals, where her responsibilities included marketing-related activities such as market assessments, health economics, quality of life evaluations, internal and external communications, and public relations. In addition, she also oversaw the advancement of the company's lead product candidate through the completion of Phase II clinical trials and spearheaded the preparation for the subsequent Phase III clinical program.
As director of product development at Oral-B Laboratories, Ms. Wong-Paredes and her team pioneered a breakthrough product development process and launched the company's clinically superior flagship product. A consumer insights expert, Ms. Wong-Paredes led the sensory and consumer research programs for Kraft Foods, Richardson-Vicks and Avon Products. At the latter two companies, she was also responsible for claims development and substantiation, as well as for developing and validating new sensory test methods for the evaluation of skin care and cosmetic products.
Ms. Wong-Paredes is recognized for her strong strategic and tactical skills and for her ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver technically superior products that meet evolving customer/consumer needs.
Ms. Wong-Paredes received a B.S. in consumer food science from the University of California, Davis and an MBA from Pepperdine University. |
