Maia's role at Dynamic Diagrams involves translating research findings into visual explanations that bring complex ideas to life. Maia has a BA in comparative literature from Brown University, an MSc in virtual environments from the Bartlett School of Architecture, and a PhD in computer science from University College London. Prior to joining Dynamic Diagrams she managed a European Union research project investigating the effects of human animation and environment design on the sense of presence in simulated spaces. Most recently she focused on design strategy for San Francisco-based Radar, a mobile picture-sharing service designed for instantaneous visual communication between friends. Maia is Italian and American and grew up in Kenya. She is fluent in English, Italian and Portuguese. |
