Mahendra S. Rao is a Vice President, Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine for Invitrogen Corporation, a corporation that provides products and services that support academic and government research institutions and pharmaceutical and biotech companies worldwide in their efforts to improve the human condition since 2006. From 2001 to 2005 he was Section Chief (stem cell)/Senior Investigator at the National Institute of Aging’s Laboratory of Neuroscience. He currently services as an Associate Professor at the NCBS Bangalore India and Neurosciences-John Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds an M.D. in Medicine and a Ph.D. in Dev. Neurobiology from the Bombay University. He has authored over twenty submitted, five issued patents and 250 scientific publications in the field of stem cell therapies and has chaired the US FDA cell and gene therapy advisory committee. |
