Mack is a partner in the real estate department. He focuses his practice on real estate development as well as zoning and land use. Mack has represented owners, developers and nonprofit organizations in all types of development and governmental issues. Prior to joining Kennedy Covington, Mack served as Chief of Staff and legal counsel to Lieutenant Governor Dennis Wicker, assisting him with policy development and legislative initiatives. He has also served as Associate General Counsel for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, assisting the company with the N.C. Department of Insurance and state legislature. Mack has served on a number of private sector initiatives focused on local, regional and statewide land use policy.
Representative Matters
Represented developers in obtaining approval of tallest building ever approved in the Triangle Region.
Represented client on a variety of issues relating to the approval and construction of a shopping center.
Represented developer on a significant land swap on the intracoastal waterway requiring approvals by the US Army Corps of Engineers and the State Property Office.
Represented coastal development with a variety of environmental approvals, including marina permits, channel dredging and beach nourishment.
Represented museum in securing $15 million from the local hotels and meals tax in the County.
