Before joining NuTech Solutions, Maciej Michalewicz was the head of the Artificial Intelligence Department in the Institute of Computer Science, at the Polish Academy of Sciences. There he led several large-scale IT projects for PKO BP (the largest national bank in Poland), the Polish Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Polish National Air Force. Maciej was also responsible for the design and development of several advanced data analysis software programs, including PATHOS (pathological data analysis) and SAD (complex data and knowledge analysis). These projects have claimed several national awards for their scientific achievement. From 1988 to 1991, Mr. Michalewicz led the Chernobyl Disaster data analysis project to investigate the medical effects and long-term consequences of the radiation fallout.
Maciej Michalewicz has published over 50 articles and 11 books on complex data mining, data analysis, information retrieval, knowledge discovery, and intelligent information systems. Maciej possesses expert knowledge of Bayesian networks, neural networks, rough sets, fuzzy systems, fuzzy modeling, and genetic algorithms.
Maciej Michalewicz holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from the Warsaw Technical University, Poland; and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Moscow State University, Russia. |
