M.C. (Sonny) Jackson is senior vice president and general manager, Containerboard Mill & Forest Resources division, a position he assumed in January, 2005. Jackson joined Stone Container Corporation, a predecessor company of Smurfit-Stone, in 1978. He has held numerous production and management positions at several Smurfit-Stone mills, including serving as general manager of the Uncasville, CT, mill, for two years and the Hodge, LA, mill for six years. In 2002, Jackson became vice president of mill operations. As senior vice president and general manager of the division, Jackson will continue to be based in Jacksonville, FL. Sonny has a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and studied pulp and paper science at Northeast Louisiana University.
