Lynn E. Riley is a partner in the Firm’s estate planning group. Her practice focuses on advising individuals, families and businesses in the area of trusts and estates, particularly with respect to reducing or eliminating estate and gift taxes. She has considerable experience in structuring inter-generational asset transfers, gifting, generation-skipping and income tax planning, retirement planning, succession planning and asset protection. Ms. Riley is also directly involved with estate administration representing both individuals and corporate executives and trustees on probate matters, estate taxation matters, and trust income tax issues. She has considerable experience handling guardianship and conservatorship cases before the Probate Courts. Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Riley served as a law Clerk to The Honorable Chief Justice Joseph R. Weisberger and Associate Justice Robert G. Flanders of the Rhode Island Supreme Court. Ms. Riley began her legal career at the law firm Hinckley, Allen & Snyder working out of the firm’s Providence and Boston offices. Ms. Riley attended Bentley College where she received her B.S. Degree in Finance and received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 1995. She also holds an LLM in Taxation from Boston University Law School. Ms. Riley is an active instructor at continuing legal education seminars and is a member of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Rhode Island Bar Association. |
