Since December of 2005, Lynn Maunakea has served as the vice president and executive director of the Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation, a charitable support organization of Kamehameha Schools which develops new and diverse sources of income to support the educational goals of people of Hawaiian ancestry.
Well known for her advocacy and leadership in working with Hawai'i's homeless population, Maunakea came to the foundation after a nine-year stint as the executive director of the Institute for Human Services (IHS), O'ahu's emergency homeless shelter.
Prior to leading IHS, Maunakea managed a grant and loan program for the Hawai'i Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.
She is also a former director of research and development for Hawai'i County and a former executive director of the Hilo Association for Retarded Citizens.
Originally from New York, Maunakea carries a master's degree in social work from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. |
