Lyle P. Campbell brings his own legacy of success to his newest banking venture in North Scottsdale. Never described as a patient man, Lyle is known for his ability to get things done for himself as well as the clients served by his collection of more than 30 banking offices in the Midwest and Southwest.
Lyle began his banking career at The Northern Trust Bank in Chicago after earning a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business from Iowa State University. While working at The Northern Trust, Lyle went on to receive an MBA from the University of Chicago. In 1973, Lyle joined First Chicago Bank as division head for Agribusiness in North America and bought his first community bank in Central Illinois. In 1986, Lyle opened Founders Bank of Arizona, a leading North Scottsdale community bank that he sold in 2000.
Today, Lyle serves as the chairman of Illinois-based Founders Group Inc., a multi-bank holding company, and its wholly owned subsidiary, Interbanx. Interbanx helps customers find foreign investment opportunities and overcome inherent obstacles to international affiliations. Lyle’s vision for Legacy Bank is to provide North Scottsdale residents and business owners with a bank small enough to provide highly personalized customer service, and large enough to meet every financial need.
Besides banking, Lyle’s other passion is flying airplanes. He holds a twin-engine rating, has had an instrument rating for 22 years, and has also earned ratings in helicopters, gyroplanes, and seaplanes. He currently owns three aircraft and is a partner in Aero Jet Services, a Scottsdale-based aircraft charter company.
Lyle and his Campbell Air Race Team competed against 38 teams from eight countries in the 2001 Great Race from London to Sydney. He covered 12,000 miles over six continents in a 1954 Grumman Albatross seaplane. As a man who understands the value of education, Lyle also currently serves on the development boards of Iowa State University and Arizona State University. Lyle lives in Paradise Valley, Arizona with his wife of more than 50 years, Nancy. |
