Luiz Carlos Aguiar, 42 is economist with a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Rio Grande do Sul Federal University.
Starting in 2003, Aguiar was PREVI’s Chief Investment Officer, responsible for USD 28 billion in assets and member of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN).
Between 2003 and 2005, he was appointed to represent PREVI (largest Pension Fund in Latin America) on the boards of several companies, including Embraer.
During this period of time, he was member of the Finance Committee of CVRD (Companhia Vale do Rio Doce), Vice - Chairman of the Board of CPFL (São Paulo Power and Light Company) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Export Credit Insurance Company (SBCE).
During most of his career, he was employed by the Banco do Brasil, where he had the opportunity to plan and introduce major international operations. He worked at the New York branch and in the bank’s international department in São Paulo.
On December 19, 2005 he was appointed Executive Vice-President of Embraer responsible for worldwide Defense Market and Governmental Aviation products and systems’ marketing, sales and contract administration. Product development and product support engineering, as well as the management of serial and phased-out programs are also under his responsibilities. |
