Mr. De Taboada joined PhotoThera in 2001 as VP of Research and Development. He was responsible for the design, development, and testing of all devices used during the early In-Vitro, animal and cadaver studies, as well as the devices used during PhotoThera’s NEST-1 and NEST-2 trials. Prior to working at PhotoThera, Mr. De Taboada worked as Director of New Product Development at Laser Mechanisms, establishing and managing West Coast operations. Previously, he was Engineering Manager at Medical Optics, a division of Kaiser Aerospace and Electronics where he led the development of novel Carbon Dioxide lasers, laser systems, fiber beam delivery systems, and research in head mounted displays for minimally invasive surgery. Mr. DeTaboada holds an MS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego. |
