Luis Alvarez joined DTx as the Vice President of Operations in July of 2004. He is responsible for overseeing and managing all operations (supply chain and production), manufacturing engineering, development engineering, and product introduction activities. Prior to joining DTx, Luis served as the Vice President of Operations for JDS Uniphase in Melbourne, Florida. During his career, he has held high level management positions in engineering and manufacturing with Lucent Technologies and P-COM. He has over 16 years experience in product development, supply chain management, quality control, and high volume and high mix manufacturing of commercial, military and customized products. Luis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology and a Master in Business Administration degree from Centenary College. Luis is focused on improving product delivery speed. He has already begun implementing new programs with great success. In the factory, Alvarez headed the implementation of automated product testing and the transition to a lean production environment, increasing throughput and productivity. In the warehouse, inventory turns have increased dramatically as a result of new efforts to further develop DTx’s supplier relationships and the implementation of consignment programs with key suppliers. |
