Luis R. Amadeo-Carrón is an Income Member in the Labor & Employment Law Practice Group. He is also part of the firm's ERISA and Welfare Benefits Practice Area.
Practice and Experience
Mr. Amadeo's areas of practice include Employment Discrimination litigation and appeals under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA and local employment statutes, Sexual Harrassment, mediation before the EEOC and state deferral agencies, Wage and Hour litigation, Workers' Compensation, Union Arbitration, Unfair Labor Practices pursuant to the NLRA, ERISA litigation, and consulting for employers in Employee Welfare Benefits and various areas of local and federal Labor & Employment Law.
Before joining McConnell Valdés, he worked for Indiano Williams & Weinstein-Bacal, a mass-tort, complex litigation firm. Mr. Amadeo joined McConnell Valdés in 1997 and served in its Labor and Employment Law Department until 2001. From 2001 to 2006, Mr. Amadeo practiced Commercial Litigation, Consumer Class Action Litigation and Employment Law in the State of Florida. In 2006, Mr. Amadeo re-joined McConnell Valdés' Labor & Employment Law Practice Group.
Mr. Amadeo has litigated before the Puerto Rico Courts of Appeals and the Puerto Rico Supreme Court. He has been involved in ADA, ADEA, Title VII, NLRA and ERISA cases before the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, and Insurance and FLSA suits before the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
Education
Mr. Amadeo obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from the Florida State University in 1992, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 1995.
