Lucinda Sadrian, an experienced restructuring and litigation professional, recently managed the wind-down and distribution plan of the European and Asian operations of Refco, Inc., a multi-billion dollar global commodities and futures broker that filed for bankruptcy two months after its IPO following discovery of a $400+ million fraud. Lucinda is also financial advisor to the SEC appointed Receiver of Wood River Capital Management in evaluating and liquidating its underlying portfolio investments. Further, she is advising the estate of Asia Global Crossing on its litigation against various third parties. Lucinda founded the global asset recovery group at Lucent Technologies Inc., where she was a Managing Director. Lucinda managed the workout of more than $3 billion of Lucent’s $8 billion distressed debt portfolio, including its exposure to Winstar Communications, WorldCom, AT&T Latin America, OneTel, PSINet, ICG Communications, Inc., KMC Telecom, Vesper SP, Livedoor, Jato Communications Inc., Carolina PCS, Enitel, Bayantel, X-Stream, and PT AriaWest among others. Lucinda led the wind-down of the OneTel wireless network operations in Australia upon its financial collapse. Lucinda has extensive experience in recovery of cross-border assets in Europe, Latin America and Asia/Pacific. She led recovery and restructuring efforts in such diverse jurisdictions as Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Singapore and the United Kingdom. In addition to asset recovery and debt restructuring, Lucinda is experienced in litigation and settlement negotiations in complex contract disputes. Lucinda was formerly an officer at First Union National Bank, where she was a vice president for Capital Markets and Asset Recovery and uncovered several frauds. During the real estate downturn of the early 1990s, Lucinda restructured numerous significant commercial real estate loans involving wetlands remediation and environmental issues. She previously held positions at Bankers Trust, Mellon Bank and PNC. A Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, Lucinda has a B.A. in Business Administration from Duquesne University and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research from the University of Pittsburgh. |
